Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Assist with dog training sessions and behavioral assessments as needed.
- Handle animals safely and effectively during routine procedures such as bathing or administering medication.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and any issues that arise during their stay.
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal care tasks, including assisting with examinations or treatments when necessary.
- Ensure proper record-keeping for each animal's care routine, health status, and any incidents that occur.
Skills
- Strong experience in dog handling and animal care is essential.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and best practices for animal welfare.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for handling large breeds or moving equipment.
- Previous experience in veterinary settings or as a veterinary assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
