Your Role at Pura:

The Director of Retention and Lifecycle Management drives customer acquisition, retention, loyalty, and revenue growth by overseeing the customer journey, managing email/SMS/app campaigns and developing automated, personalized strategies to maximize LTV. Expertise in multi-channel marketing across eCommerce, Retail and Subscription, with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically, is critical.

Pura relies on its owned channels (email, SMS, mobile app) for sustainable growth and retention. Success requires both high-level segmentation and content strategy with detailed implementation plans. This role involves educating teams, creating campaign roadmaps, and collaborating cross-functionally for seamless customer experiences to achieve business objectives. They have a seat at the table with UX and product leaders focused on sharing segmentation learnings and CRM tool best practices.

What You’ll Own:

  • Lifecycle Management Strategy
    • Develop and execute CRM campaigns with a primary focus on driving eCommerce revenue and improving conversion rates
    • Manage end-to-end email campaign process from ideation and calendar planning to creative briefing, segmentation, QA, deployment, and reporting
    • Elevate the Lifecycle communications through storytelling by collaborating with internal partners to identify key brand moments and activations to highlight
    • Develop and implement iterative testing plans, focusing on segmentation, messaging, frequency, and personalization, to optimize campaigns to improve channel KPIs
    • Analyze performance metrics and leverage business insights to identify trends and opportunities for optimizations and to drive engagement and efficiency
    • Provide clear communication and coordination of campaign briefs, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and blockers
  • Retention Focus
    • Strengthen subscriber retention by leveraging lifecycle communication strategies that nurture engagement and reduce churn
    • Design and optimize automated email, SMS, and in-app messaging flows to support key moments in the subscriber journey—onboarding, engagement, replenishment, milestone rewards, and win-back campaigns
    • Develop personalized, data-driven retention strategies, ensuring messaging aligns with subscriber behaviors, preferences, and engagement patterns
    • Implement proactive churn mitigation tactics by identifying early signals of disengagement and triggering targeted interventions (e.g., incentives, educational content, exclusive offers)
    • Enhance the subscription experience through strategic content—providing value beyond product replenishment, such as usage tips, scent pairings, seasonal recommendations, and loyalty perks
    • Continuously test, measure, and refine lifecycle touchpoints to maximize subscriber LTV, satisfaction, and retention rates
  • Influencing and Cross-functional Partnership
    • Work closely with Growth/Retention Strategy, Paid Media, and Creative Services, you'll collaborate across internal teams to provide input and plan cohesive marketing campaigns
    • Help shape integrated marketing strategies that maximize results across all channels.
  • Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement
    • A passion for results-driven data and a track record of being able to identify, develop, segment, execute and optimize Lifecycle campaigns.
    • Ability to spot trends and connect the dots on what success may look like across product categories (Home/Car devices) and the Fragrance marketplace.
Qualifications:

  • Experience
    • 12 years relevant experience in email/sms/app marketing with a strong background in DTC subscription programs is a plus
    • Excellent leadership and cross-department communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams
    • Experience working with creative designers and copywriters to develop best-in-class marketing campaigns
    • Ability to translate customer personas and segments into concrete & measurable journeys
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to develop insights, spot opportunities, and inform future campaigns
    • Highly detail orientated with exceptional organizational skills
    • Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills with a data driven approach to determine strategy development by spotting opportunities to generate future campaigns
    • Comfort in fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in tools such as Braze, Twilio/Segment, Recharge, Shopify is a plus
  • Preferred Experience
    • Experience in beauty, home, or lifestyle categories
    • Knowledge of fragrance or smart home technology industries
