What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at Puratos?
As a vital part of the Operations team, the Quality Control Technician ensures that products meet quality standards by performing quality control on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods. This role involves verifying food safety and quality SOPs, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safety work with automated industrial equipment, including operation, change over, and basic maintenance
- Report all food safety, quality, and safety issues to the immediate Supervisor, Quality Manager, maintenance, or management
- Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of designated work center
- Comply with all company SOPs, GMPs, SQF standards, and food defense guidelines, ensuring allergen control throughout the workplace.
- Maintain a neat and sanitary work area at all times
- Run assigned lines in the most efficient and safe way, ensuring the highest quality of product and optimal output of line
- Sanitize the department according to the sanitation handbook and ensure shift sanitation tasks meet the standards set by the production supervisor and quality control.
- Receive, retain and apply necessary training needed to properly maintain line
- Effectively communicate information to relieving operators, lead, and supervisor
- Carry out assigned tasks to ensure task production and quality is maintained
- Pack chocolate as required by daily planning
- Follow proper changeovers / cleaning procedures
- Ensure that packaging paperwork is properly documented
