The Research and Development internship with Puratos will assist in activities related to new product development and documentation, raw material approvals, product/process improvement, lab equipment commissioning, support lab organization and other tasks, for the Chocolate and Compound category.
This is a paid full-time, 40 hour per week internship. This position will be located in Kenosha, WI.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of new products (chocolate and compound)
- Assist with raw material approval and validation and documentation
- Support lab/pilot sample preparation and quality testing for customer projects or requests
- Assist in commissioning analytical lab equipment (viscometer and NIR)
- Support lab organization, maintenance, supplies and ingredients
- Support any production data collection related to process improvement and validations.
- Test new and innovative ingredients to improve functionality of focus products
- Independently conduct lab trials and benchtop work, following SOPs and documentation requirements
- Assist in plant trials as needed
- Ensure complete documentation on new and/or revised products including: raw materials, formulations, process parameters, Quality Control tests
- University Degree (or working towards one) with an excellent academic track record in Food Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Previous work or internship experience is a plus, preferably in the Food, CPG or similar industry
- Ability to travel to Kenosha, WI using reliable transportation
- Proficient in spreadsheet and presentation software
- Excellent in written and verbal communication skills
