The Opportunity: The Contract Technical Project Manager will define the scope, KPIs, and project plans for complex projects, breaking them down into high-level milestones and quality gates for executive reporting while managing detailed tasks and timelines with core teams. You will ensure successful project delivery by identifying and mitigating risks and roadblocks, tracking and communicating project status, scope changes, and support requests. You will demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed goals while working independently and conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve project management practices. Projects may include multiple technology disciplines and/or significant business process re-engineering efforts.
What You Will Do:
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and deliver complex projects and/or programs prioritized in alignment with the company’s goals
- Arrange for daily stand-up meetings, facilitate, and schedule meetings, and ensure adherence to scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective)
- Manage the backlog and assist the team in determining suitable commitments for product backlog items and sprints
- Assist balance the prioritization of technical debt against new feature innovation and software delivery
- Address team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and manage resource constraints effectively
- Create reports related to project health and status, risks, issues, dependencies, and overall performance
- Assess the team's performance and drive necessary actions for improvement
- Exhibit executive presence during presentations and meetings, effectively communicating project vision and status to stakeholders and senior management
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations that articulate project goals, progress, and outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering stakeholder engagement
- Break projects/ project plans down into high-level milestones/quality gates for executive reporting, while managing detailed tasks and timelines with the core team(s)
- Ensure successful project delivery by identifying and mitigating risks and roadblocks, tracking and communicating project status, scope changes and support requests
- Utilize and further improve/add to repository of project management tools and templates
- Facilitate and lead meetings at all levels and with various audiences
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business teams, IT, Finance, and senior leadership
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5 years of experience working with Agile or similar methodologies
- Scrum Master or similar relevant certification
- 5 years of experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools
- 5 years of relevant work experience supporting or leading a team
- Expertise in Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
- Experience using Microsoft Office Applications
- Sufficient understanding of technology systems and the team’s ecosystem to help the team overcome roadblocks
- In-depth understanding of Agile principles and their application in workplace culture
- Effective communication, team dynamics, conflict resolution, mentoring, and leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences
