The Opportunity: The Merchandising Intern will learn each aspect of the merchandising process by working side-by-side with our merchandising and planning teams. You will be responsible for general catalog administration, product set-up and other key elements of management of online product categories. Additionally, you will partner with the buyers to create and implement merchandise strategies to continually improve assortments and drive revenue growth. The Merchandising Intern will gain hands-on experience in the merchandising field and to learn about the retail industry.
What You Will Do:
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize various reporting systems to analyze sales and assortment data, partnering with buying team on findings. Help identify new opportunities to that may increase demand and profitability.
- Marketing & Promotions: Partner with the buying team on upcoming marketing events and assist with executing promotions when possible.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory reports to ensure the right stock levels across multiple categories.
- Market Trends & Competitor Analysis: Keep an eye on market trends and benchmarking against competitors to provide valuable insights. Provide in-depth recaps to Buyers to help shape future assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Additional Projects: Data review, marketing support, and communication with suppliers and cross-functional teams. This ensures a holistic approach to managing the category.
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Currently enrolled or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree program focused on Merchandising, Marketing, Business Administration or related field
- Experience using Microsoft Office and proficiency in using Excel (Pivot table, Macros)
- Exposure to data management software (Tableau, Domo, SQL) would be beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail and capable of working independently
- Highly adaptable and prepared to learn new technologies to keep up with a dynamic work environment
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication ability
- Must be able to manage deadlines and multiple work streams in parallel
