The Opportunity: The Product Owner with FinTech experience will require an in-depth understanding of finance principles as it relates to loan servicing, accounting, and risk management needed to facilitate cross-functional refinement sessions across various FinTech products to support strategic initiatives and features on the Finance roadmap. The Product Owner will document and maintain requirements in the form of user stories in the product backlog ensuring the successful delivery of acceptance criteria as aligned with overall business objectives and priorities. Product owners’ partner with the development and project management teams to deliver value-added products and features, so a strong proficiency in verbal and written communication is necessary to be successful. This role will have a direct impact on profit and loss rates and the ability to measure outcomes.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and refine the product backlog, write user stories, and perform release planning
- Prioritize and implement product enhancements based on product evaluation, user feedback, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to providing innovative and workable solutions to satisfy customer needs and expectations
- Managing the product backlog and prioritizing the tasks based on changing requirements
- Attend development meetings and ceremonies, working closely with the technical product manager throughout development
- Articulate business and customer value to the development team and use it to guide iterative development
- Provide release notes and demonstrations with product releases
- Track & communicate successes or impediments in your respective area throughout the organization
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
- 3 years of Product Owner experience with FinTech applications such as loan servicing, accounting, and risk management
- Advance level Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development principles; certified scrum product owner preferred
- Hands-on experience creating user stories with a development team
- Strong cross-functional written and verbal communication skills (e.g., technical and business audiences)
- Experience with loan servicing software; Nortridge Loan Software (NLS) preferred
- Experience with implementing API’s
- Strong knowledge of implementing solutions that require 3rd party integrations
- Experience with receivables and collection business units
