We are reinventing the approach to learning at Purdue Polytechnic High School. Student academic work is driven by projects, and instruction is based solely on the individual and collective needs of students. There are no predetermined classes where students move in groups according to a master schedule. Rather, teachers work together to arrange time for student instruction based on who needs it, when they need it, and how they best receive it.

Job Summary:
Permanent Building Substitute Coach (“Substitute Coach”) of Purdue Polytechnic High School provides monitoring and academic assistance. The Substitute Coach supports student assignments, progress, or other relevant issues. The Substitute Coach will encourage students to demonstrate high levels of social responsibility, personal accountability, and independent thinking. Directly responsible for the safety and well-being of others
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Fulfill daily sub needs within the assigned building
- Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate school and student needs
- Implement curriculum as provided
- Provide feedback to coach on student progress
- Independently and effectively perform all classroom duties
- Communicate effectively with students and other staff members
- Maintain safe and orderly learning environment
- Keep classroom neat and orderly
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Current Indiana Substitute Teaching Certificate or Indiana Teaching License preferred
- Prior experience in a classroom setting or with teenagers preferred
- Ability to independently instruct and follow lessons as outlined by teacher/instructional assistant
- Ability to carry out duties independently with minimal instruction
- Ability to exercise strong classroom management skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of students and staff
- Ability to positively respond to feedback
- Ability to lead a classroom, work with students individually and/or in small group settings
- Understand and enforce school rules, regulations, safety policies and procedure
Salary : $15 - $20
