Essential Functions
Identify entry method in Salesforce Ascend for all types of gifts and pledges received by the Foundation from various sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and other entities.Provide backup gift entry during peak processing times.Extract wire transfers from Purdue University’s Treasury data base and Purdue Research Foundation wires from the Lockbox.Prepare and maintain biographical information in Salesforce Ascend data base, ensure data is accurate and complete.Add, merge and or purge records via the Salesforce Interims process.Update records in Salesforce Ascend by adding marital status, births, employment, and deaths.Assist with special biographical projects.Process system corrections for gifts and pledges as necessary including scanning documents for audit.Assist with Purdue Day of Giving by answering telephones, processing call in credit card gifts and assisting donors and staff with gift processing questions.Scan and index gift and biographic documents for audit.Assist with daily review, processing and closing adjustment sessions in Ascend. Provide correction notices to receiving accounting area.Assist monthly with the reconciliation of pending accounting corrections confirming accountants have completed requested corrections.Assist with the set-up and deactivation of gift accounts in Ascend.Pull and distribute reports daily regarding credit card issues requiring attention.Work closely with other accounting areas to reconcile pending and clearing items and possible keying errors in Salesforce Ascend.Assist with the monthly pledge reminder process, reviewing and mailing statements.Serve as a resource to fundraising professionals, their support staff with questions regarding gift processing and recording in Salesforce Ascend.Serve as a resource to Business Managers and their support staff with questions regarding processed gifts, deposits, and corrections to gift accounts.Become proficient in the use of selected technology and software to accomplish timely and accurate gift processing, receipting and reporting.Follow all cash handling procedures as legally required.Other duties as assigned.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Computer and related software skills necessary, Salesforce experience a plus.Knowledge of Purdue University / PRF cash handling procedures.Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills required.Able to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals.Strong work ethic, ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.Regular and reliable in-person attendance is a requirement of this position.Occasional evening, weekend and Holiday work.Required Education / Experience and Benefits
High School Diploma or GED required.3-5 years of clerical, bookkeeping and data entry experience required.Experience with databases and accounting procedures requiredExperience in assisting customer or constituent relationships through excellent verbal and written communication required.Purdue University / Purdue Research Foundation accounting experience preferred.Experience supporting fundraising efforts preferred.Benefits Summary for eligible employees :
