Job Summary
The Oral English Proficiency Program (OEPP) invites applications for the position of OEPP Lecturer. This position is a full-time appointment as an instructor of four sections per academic year of SCLA 620: Academic and Professional Communication for International Teaching Assistants. SCLA 620 focuses on improving oral communication in support of international graduate students’ educational and professional activities. The Lecturer position primarily focuses on teaching SCLA 620. Additional duties include a) participating in rater training and rating activities related to the Oral English Proficiency Test (OEPT); b) participating in curriculum training/mentor meetings; c) attending departmental/program meetings; d) holding weekly individual conference and tutoring sessions; and e) other duties as assigned. OEPP Lecturers report to the Director of the OEPP.
Core Competencies
Master’s degree in TESOL, Second Language Studies, Applied Linguistics, Educational Linguistics, or closely related field.

- 2 or more years of experience in teaching, preferably at the college level.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to effectively work with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work on a team in an educational environment.
- Proficiency in a second language and/or experience living or working in an international context.
