Responsibilities
Purdue University’s School of Interdisciplinary Studies and the College of Liberal Arts invite applications for the position of Clinical Associate / Full Professor and Director of the Global Studies Program. We seek a dynamic, visionary leader with a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to shape and guide an innovative Global Studies Program that integrates liberal arts with strategic and technological perspectives.
The successful candidate will focus on undergraduate education, reviewing and enhancing the program by developing new courses and experiential learning opportunities that combine strategy, defense, and technology within a liberal arts framework. The Director will ensure that the program meets the needs of Purdue University’s undergraduate population, which spans liberal arts, STEM and applied disciplines. A nine-month assignment, the expected teaching load is three courses per semester in addition to Director duties. The successful candidate will lead efforts to establish a world-class Global Studies Program that prepares students for careers in industry, government, and non-profit sectors.
Role
While research and outreach activities are supported, they are not the central focus of this position. Instead, the role emphasizes teaching, scholarship of teaching, program development, and enhancing the student experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate:
A doctoral degree is preferred. However, exceptional candidates with an MA or MS degree may also be considered, provided they have significant professional and teaching experience.
This is a non-tenure position with the possibility of renewal and promotion.
