Job Summary
The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an independent, well-funded research program in cancer biology and teach in veterinary professional and graduate programs. We are especially interested in candidates who embrace the “One Health” concept that addresses the shared challenges facing human and veterinary medicine, and whose expertise complements areas of strength within the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research. Research topics of interest include but are not limited to: RNA biology and therapeutics, immunotherapy, drug discovery, cryo-EM tomography, cellular topography, AI imaging and diagnostics, and cell signaling.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a biological science and relevant post-doctoral experience. Preference will be given to individuals who also hold a D.V.M. (or equivalent) and with prior experience teaching topics in foundational courses such as anatomy, physiology, histology, or neuroscience. The successful candidate will be expected to educate, train, and mentor undergraduate, professional, and graduate students. The Department and College will provide faculty mentoring to foster excellence in teaching, research, and service.
