Purdue Veterinary Hospital (PVH) is hiring Animal Care Technicians to support our brand new David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex. This role will monitor and maintain the physical and environmental conditions of animals both large and small in a research or clinical setting. Individuals in this role will be expected to feed, water, groom, bathe, exercise, and provide other types of care to ensure animal welfare while consistently evaluating the general condition of animals by and collecting and recording data. Employees can expect to clean and maintain animal environments; order and stock supplies; follow approved protocols and standard operating procedures.

The schedule for this position will be Sunday - Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm.
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED
- 3 years of related work experience working with large animals
Skills Needed:
- Must be able to read/write English
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to operate power tools
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 80 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be comfortable working around small and large animal species: may include, but not limited to dogs/cats/horses/cattle/goats/sheep/llamas
- Valid US or Canadian driver's license
Preferred:
- Custodial experience
- Large animal handling experience
- Forklift experience
