Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) School of Polytechnic invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology beginning August 2025.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline will be considered. ABD in advanced states will also be considered if the degree is in hand by August 2025.

Applicants must be able to teach at the undergraduate level in a variety of foundational courses and potential courses matching the candidate's expertise. Areas of instructional interest would include, but not limited to, statics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, fluid power, heat transfer, automatic control, and computer-aided design. Applicants should possess at least 3 years of relevant industrial experience. The selected candidate will be working closely with students in a small experiential classroom setting and will collaborate with the community and industry partners to improve the program.

The School

The School of Polytechnic has majors in six-degree programs which include Computer, Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Technology, along with Information Technology and Construction Management. All the Engineering Technology programs are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, http : / / www.abet.org. The student educational experience produces graduates who not only have profound technical knowledge, an ability to apply principles, and experiences relevant in their discipline, but they can also problem solve, think critically, innovate, and communicate.
