We seek a full-time, on-site Business Intelligence Analyst in our Institutional Research office. This position supports internal and external decision-making by responding to and developing reporting solutions for all units on campus. The annual salary for this position is $50,000.00.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Respond to end-users' requests to create or modify new reports.
- Train and support Cognos end-user community.
- Support Cognos and Operational Data Store (ODS) upgrades by participating in testing and troubleshooting processes.
- Train and support Cognos end-user community on Cognos and ODS features and functionality.
- Support Cognos and ODS upgrades and patches by participating in testing and troubleshooting processes.
- Designs and develops intuitive dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations to present complex data clearly and concisely.
- Interprets data and provides insights to stakeholders through visualizations, enabling them to make informed decisions and identify actionable items.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other quantitative discipline will be considered.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and extract meaningful insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills working with stakeholders and with technical and non-technical personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Tableau, Cognos, and Microsoft Office reporting tools.
- Familiarity with business intelligence concepts and tools to align data visualizations with business strategies.
- Previous experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Experience working in an environment supporting multiple departments, gathering requirements to modify existing reports or create new reports meeting the end-user's specifications.
