The Science Education Program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor in Elementary Science Education.
This is a 9-month academic year, clinical track position with a 3-3 teaching load. Reappointments occur in 3-year contractual terms. Clinical appointments are non-tenure track but with the potential for promotion in rank. The position also includes the possibility of summer employment.
Responsibilites
Responsibilities include :
- Teach 3 courses each fall and spring semester
- Teach and / or coordinate undergraduate science-specific teacher-education courses
- Teach graduate-level courses as needed
- Advise graduate students
- Engage in activities within the College of Education, across the university, and in K-12 schools
- Participate in program, department, college, and university committees
- Collaborate on program level assessment and accreditation activities
This position requires an on-campus, face-to-face presence.
Additional Information
Opportunities exist for the development of graduate courses, as well as collaboration with centers including the Center for Advancing the Teaching and Learning of STEM (CATALYST) - an interdisciplinary center in the College of Education with faculty, staff and graduate students from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education (https : / / education.purdue.edu / catalyst / ).
