The Research Analyst will be responsible for collection, analysis and maintenance of digital data at the Southeast Purdue Agricultural Center. In this role, you will utilize unmanned aerial systems to collect and process imagery, develop and analyze maps to compare physical topography with data on soils, fertilizer, pests or weather and collect information about soil attributes or yield data using data recorders and basic geographic information systems (GIS). You will document and maintain research records, compile and analyze geospatial data to determine research implications of factors such as soil quality, terrain, field productivity, fertilizers and weather conditions and program research equipment such as variable-rate planting equipment or pesticide applicators based on input from crop scouting and analysis of field condition variability. In addition, you will install, calibrate and maintain sensors, mechanical controls, or computer settings as well as service and maintain research equipment.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural discipline
- 1 year of experience with modern production practices associated with agronomic crops
- In lieu of degree consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required experience (Associate's degree 3 years of experience; HS/GED 5 years of experience)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
