Job Description
The primary role of the Summer Student Office Coordinator (SOC), formerly known as the Staffing Assistant (SA) position is to schedule and supervise all Summer Student Office Staff (SOS), formerly known as Community Assistants (CA’s) within their program team. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a leadership environment. The Summer SOC position should work 5-10 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer. The Staffing Assistant must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in University Residences Summer Residential and Dining processes, along with supervisory experience.
Prerequisite(s)
Previous experience as a Community Assistant for University Residences or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Compensation
- $12.00/hour
- Summer Room and Board
- Academic year average, 5-10 hours per week
- Summer average, 30-40 hours per week
- Required hours include weekends, nights, and holidays
- Required on-call rotation
- Required to live-in assigned hall for the duration of the program season
- This position is considered a full-time commitment
- No additional employment is permitted
- Canidates are not permitted to take summer classes
- Target Start date: April 7, 2025

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one semester of college coursework completed
- Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue University Global, or a local accredited college
- Previous work experience within University Residences preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexible and dependable with strong attention to detail
- Problem solving, logic, and reasoning skills
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Be timely and organized
- Previous experience as a Community Assistant for University Residences or equivalent preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
