Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in learning mathematics by connecting academic concepts to real-world applications. As a Math Teacher at PURE Academy, you will collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to provide a supportive, dynamic, and meaningful educational experience for our students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain an engaging, student-centered high school math classroom environment conducive to success.
- Deliver stimulating and effective instruction using diverse methodologies, resources, and materials.
- Examine student assessment data to guide and improve instruction.
- Integrate literacy strategies into math instruction to enhance student learning.
- Differentiate instruction to address the needs of diverse learners.
- Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum standards, submitting lesson plans to the Principal as requested.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design standards-based curriculum, assessments, and continuous instructional improvement initiatives.
- Assess students’ learning and communicate progress effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Identify students’ special needs and seek appropriate support to meet their needs.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development programs, and school-sponsored activities.
- Contribute to summer programming, which may include direct service to students and curriculum planning with colleagues.
- Assist with general building supervision and discipline of students outside of the classroom.
- Serve as a substitute teacher as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or Education and prior teaching experience (preferred).
- Active Mathematics Teaching Certificate (Grades 7-12) (required).
- Experience working with urban student populations (preferred).
Other Requirements
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or CEO.
