Lead Lighting Technician (Seasonal)
Location: Orlando, FL

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Lighting Technician to join our team for the holiday season (October - January). This leadership role is crucial in ensuring our holiday lighting projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will not only possess strong technical expertise but will also assist in estimating jobs, recruiting, managing, and leading a team of technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing clear direction and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to company standards.
  • Assist in the hiring and onboarding of crew members, ensuring the team is trained and capable of meeting project demands.
  • Estimate jobs, including assessing project requirements, materials, and labor costs.
  • Oversee the installation and setup of temporary lighting for holiday events, including wrapping trees/bushes, roofline lighting, and running temporary wiring to power displays.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues during installations, serving as the primary point of contact for the crew.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks and optimal resource allocation.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment for the team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience, with a background as a Lighting Technician or in a similar role.
  • Experience in estimating jobs, including materials and labor.
  • Roofing or electrical experience is a plus.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and managing a crew.
  • Proficient in electrical or low-voltage lighting setups (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in installing Christmas lights or other seasonal lighting.
  • Roofing or electrical experience is a strong plus.
  • Skilled in driving a truck and trailer, including backing up and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Compensation:

  • Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour (based on experience).

Schedule:

  • Full-time (seasonal)
  • 10-hour shifts, with the potential for extended hours, nights, and overtime during peak periods.
  • Availability for weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of electrical or low-voltage lighting experience (preferred).
  • Valid Driver's License (required).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Every weekend
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 100% (Required)
