Description
- Prepare Marina Cafe restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
- Attend to customers upon their arrival
- Present restaurant menus and help guests select food choices
- Take guest orders, use Point of Sale system to send guest orders to the kitchen to be prepared, and serve orders to seated guests
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary menu products
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen staff
- Effectively deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills to customers and collect payments
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Qualifications
- Must be 17 years of age or older
- Previous waitstaff experience preferred
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties preferred
- Patience and customer-oriented approach a must
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance
- All staff under 18 must have a worker’s permit provided by your local school district.
- Must be able to read menus
- Must be able to clearly communicate with other service staff, kitchen staff and supervisors
- Must be able to ear well in a loud environment in order to answer telephone and respond to guest requests
- Must be able to reach, bend and stoop
- A desire to help out where needed and to be part of a team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive
