Job Summary:
Supporting and assisting the plant with all incoming and outgoing shipments, foreign and domestic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods.
- Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion, sound judgement, and professionalism in all tasks.
- Leads the daily operation of incoming and outgoing freight.
- Assist & monitors transportation budgets to keep cost at or below plan.
- Selects carriers by researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
- Facilitate operating cost reductions and develop/implement other programs to support company objectives.
- Plans and monitors inbound and outgoing deliveries.
- Works with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
- Updates and evaluates metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
- Ensures all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
- Assists associates within the Materials, Shipping and Receiving Departments on special assignments as required.
- Close coordination with various Department Managers and Supervisors as required.
- May be required to perform miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Assist in preparing shipments.
Qualifications:
- Trainable; willingness to learn.
- Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities.
Education and/or Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Forklift experience a plus

Physical Requirements:
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing stairs, standing, stooping, or typing. Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds.
