Job Summary:
Engineer design and detail from concept to production, a wide range of products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Oversee the entire product life cycle of fuel systems concept development to manufacturing. Establish and coordinate the activities to follow the product from design through risk assessments and compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Manage product conformance through the creation of standard work and implementation of verification and validation processes. Must be able to apply GD&T, perform tolerance & stack-up studies as needed.
- Oversee production of models and drawings consistent with product requirements, guidelines, and standards. Lead group(s) of designer, engineers, technicians to adhere to project requirements and produce required deliverables. Verify drawings for clarity and completeness.
- Direct team and work collaboratively with both Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to identify improvements to designs. Work with suppliers to determine best design practices and components.
- Oversee individuals performing required calculations and analysis as necessary including stress analysis (FEA) verify robustness, dimensioning and tolerance to verify fit and form, design failure effect analysis (DFMEA) to predict potential failures before they occur, and design for manufacturability
- Oversee the maintainance project files and resource materials such as drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria, and specifications. Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications. Recommends alterations to development and design ti improve quality of product and/or procedures.
- Certain phases of product development will require to direct and lead the work of other design engineers and the various project team members. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a Manager.
- Lead group(s) of designer, engineers, technicians to adhere to project requirements and produce required deliverables.
- Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the design and use of fuel injectors and pumps
- Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status.
- Ability to make technical presentations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of customers within all levels of the organization.
- Fluent in solid modeling and related analysis software. ProEngineer 3D Modeling (Creo)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Publisher, & Power Point).
- Working independently managing team members, and be able to work with others on cross-functional teams.
- 10 years Tool Design experience only if applying for tool design. Prerequisite “Development Design Engineer”.
- Good physics knowledge and Mechanical Engineering education and experience.
- Understanding and experience in Principles of Lean and Mistake Proofing a plus.
- Experience specializing in design and/or engineering technology. Must be an expert in drafting room practice, knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities and must have product development Knowle dge. Automotive product knowledge a must.
- Exposure to electromagnetic/magnetic circuits a plus
- 10 years experience with Pro-E/Creo CAD software.
- 10 years of PDM (Product Data Management) workflow process with Windchill or other.
- Must be able to apply GD&T, perform tolerance & stack-up studies as needed. 8 years’ experience preferred.
- Understanding of CFD analysis a plus.
- MasterCam experience a plus
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 10 years Mechanical Engineering and Design experience. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years related work experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of GD&T experience.
Salary : $94,800 - $124,900
