Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Department: Accounting
Direct reporting to: AP Manager
Main Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
- Facilitate interdepartmental communications to assist in timely and accurate resolution of issues
- Reconcile AP vendor balances to vendor statements
- Process weekly AP disbursement group which handles all check and ACH/Wire disbursements
- Maintain vendor relations and vendor database in ERP system
- Maintain vendor AP/PO/Invoice/Check files
- Maintain various daily/weekly AP reports in Excel
- Maintain AP accounting records by filing documents daily
- Maintain professional demeanor while expediting all functions of work flow
- Assist Finance department with quarterly/annual audits and month end close procedures
- Assist team members with workload during periods of high volume or absences
- Assist with research projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in Accounts Payable function
- Inventory based purchasing experience (preferred)
- Experience with accounting software packages
- Prior experience with Epicor software (preferred)
- Ability to organize priorities and proven job skills; the ability to work independently, without supervision
- Ability to respond appropriately to constant change in priorities and services, as dictated by management
- Type 40 wpm/Ten Key and proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must have a good understanding of accounting procedures necessary to explain and quickly solve questions and problems that arise
- Ability to work cohesively as a team member with all departments to ensure that accounting duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner to meet financial reporting deadlines
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people through both verbal and written communication lines.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires sitting for extended amounts of time. Some lifting (up to 40lbs), bending, reaching and squatting throughout the shift while filing, sorting and moving product.
