Position Overview
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
We are seeking an experienced Deals Strategy Manager to lead the development and execution of strategic deals for our public sector (Federal, SLED) business. The successful candidate will work closely with our sales, product, and finance teams to identify, pursue, and close large, complex deals with government agencies and public sector organizations. The Deals Strategy Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, improving deal margins, and enhancing Pure’s market share in the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute deal strategies for large, complex public sector technology deals, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, assess risks, and develop winning strategies.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and finance teams to develop and refine deal strategies, identifying opportunities to leverage our storage platform products to meet public sector customers' needs.
- Conduct market analysis, competitor research, and customer insights to inform deal strategies and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the public sector, including partners, systems integrators, and other influencers.
- Work with internal stakeholders to align deal strategies with company goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with company priorities and resource allocation.
- Develop and manage deal budgets, financial models, and ROI analyses to ensure deals are profitable and align with company goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with large, complex deals, including contractual, financial, and reputational risks.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, regulations, and requirements, including those related to IT and technology products.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop contract language, pricing, and other deal terms that balance company interests with customer needs.
- Develop and maintain deal dashboards, reports, and other metrics to track deal progress, identify areas for improvement, and inform future deal strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in deal strategy, sales, or business development in the public sector technology industry, with a focus on large, complex deals.
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing deal strategies that drive revenue growth, improve margins, and enhance company reputation.
- In-depth knowledge of public sector procurement processes, regulations, and requirements, including those related to IT and technology products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with senior-level stakeholders in the public sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights that inform deal strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including sales, product, marketing, and finance.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with government contracting regulations and required certifications
- Familiarity with public sector technology trends, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital transformation.
- Experience with deal management tools, such as Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Good understanding of As-a-Service Subscriptions, and Infrastructure as a Service offerings
Pay Range
USD $158,000.00 - USD $238,000.00 /Yr.Pay Transparency Statement
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
