What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardware Debug and Validation Engineer position at Pure Storage?

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE…
- Responsible for debugging Hardware and System level issues
- Lead Hardware and Mechanical validation of new drive designs, both internally and with JDM. Includes board level signal/power measurements, mechanical testing, thermal measurements, 4-corner testing, etc…
- Support interoperability and debug of Pure Storage devices in customer systems
- Analyze and document test results
- Perform failure and root cause analysis to support field issues, customer escalation and factory defects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…
- 5 years of experience in Hardware/System validation and debug
- B.S. Electrical or Computer Engineering (M.S. is a plus)
- Python and BASH scripting experience
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, VNA, protocol analyzer, power load/analyzer, current probes, soldering rework etc…
- Understanding of PCIe, DDR, NAND, SPI, I2C protocols
- Experience working on enterprise systems (storage/server a bonus)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA, USA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
The annual base salary range is: $145,000– $181,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
