In 2015, Pure Storage established Pure1 as a new product unit to provide its customer base with cloud-based fleet management and predictive support solutions. With the ever-growing focus on subscription services and as-a-Service offerings, we rebranded ourselves to Digital Experience (DX) in 2021. In Digital Experience, our goal is to deliver the ultimate in fleet management simplicity. In the last four years, Pure1 has consistently extended its services and now provides full-stack analytics and AI-driven predictive intelligence through a SaaS-based business model. Pure1 enables the customer’s journey to the hybrid cloud by offering a single pane of glass to manage data assets on-prem and in the public cloud. In addition to that, we are offering a variety of as-a-Service solutions to solve modern customer needs. Services developed in DX form the unifying manageability and intelligence layer on top of all Pure products - FlashArray, FlashBlade, Portworx and more to come. It is the nexus of our promise of a simple customer experience, providing insights and tools to help make our customers’ lives better.

As a senior software engineer on the Pure1 Manage team, you will play a crucial role supporting and designing systems responsible for the ingestion, processing, and storage of data used to support our customer facing user interface. You'll need a strong technical background with expert coding abilities in Java and a demonstrated ability to develop complex software systems that meet both functional and non-functional requirements while ensuring performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and monitoring. You’ll also need demonstrated experience ensuring best practices and dedication to operation excellence. Pure Storage is looking for Software Engineers who can help drive this digital transformation and set Pure up for continued growth. 

Responsibilities

• System Design & Architecture

  • Design and build secure, reliable, scalable, performant, and fault-tolerant systems
  • Develop and promote adoption of best practices in software development, system design, operations, and DevOps with a focus on operational excellence and monitoring.

  End-to-End Ownership and Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical vision, strategy, and leadership for your team, driving full lifecycle ownership of services from inception to production
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and architect innovative solutions
  • Drive best practices and operational excellence both at the team and organizational level
  • Act as a product owner, driving customer-centric features
  • Coach and mentor junior and mid-level developers to help them grow technically and understand best practices

  Project & People Management

  • Lead medium to large software projects, coordinating requirements, estimates, priorities and schedules
  • Lead an effective, motivated, high-performing software team focused on delivery and operational excellence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Recruit, hire and develop top-tier software engineering talent

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience developing enterprise/cloud software using Java or related programming languages
• Proven design sensibility and the willingness to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Mongo DB, Kubernetes, containerization, Spring Boot or similar technologies
• A BS degree in Computer Science; advanced degrees are a bonus!
• Must be willing and able to work in an open office environment.

Pay Range

Pay Transparency Statement

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
