Position Summary:
Purecoat International is seeking a hands-on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our plating line facility operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations—particularly under RCRA—as well as overseeing hazardous waste handling and shipments. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and will support basic safety and health programs across the facility.
We’re looking for a team player with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably involving plating or chemical processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental:
- Perform all required RCRA tasks, including: Proper handling, labeling, and storage of hazardous waste drums.
- Scheduling and coordinating waste pickups and manifest documentation.
- Conducting weekly hazardous waste area inspections and maintaining compliance records.
- Support daily operations and compliance of the facility’s wastewater treatment system.
- Monitor system parameters and coordinate with maintenance when adjustments or repairs are needed.
- Maintain logs and assist with reporting as required.
Health & Safety:
- Conduct routine facility safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Maintain SDS documentation and ensure chemical labeling compliance.
- Participate in and support employee safety training (PPE, hazard communication, emergency procedures, etc.)
- Assist in developing and maintaining job safety analyses (JSAs) and other risk assessment tools.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an environmental, safety, or industrial operations role.
- Strong working knowledge of hazardous waste regulations (RCRA).
- Familiarity with basic wastewater treatment processes (e.g., neutralization, filtration, pH adjustment).
- Experience with safety programs such as:
- PPE usage.
- Lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Hazard communication (HazCom).
- Comfortable handling chemical containers, drums, and using appropriate PPE.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small EHS or operations team.
Working Conditions:
- Industrial manufacturing/plating environment with exposure to chemicals, machinery, and wastewater systems.
- Frequent walking, lifting, and standing required.
- Must be able to wear respirators and other protective equipment as needed.

- Mon - Friday: 7:00 am - 4:30 pm.
