Key Responsibilities

• Cost Analysis – Accurately calculate and analyze total project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

• Project Planning – Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to understand the scope of work and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Material & Labor Estimation – Determine the necessary quantities of materials and labor, sourcing cost estimates from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Budget Development – Develop and present detailed project budgets and cost proposals to clients and stakeholders.

• Bid Preparation – Prepare and submit competitive, accurate bids for custom home construction projects.

• Cost Control – Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identifying potential overruns or savings.

• Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, interior designers, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

• Software Proficiency – Utilize estimating software and other tools to generate reports and manage project costs efficiently.

• Industry Awareness – Stay up to date with pricing trends, new materials, and emerging technologies in the construction industry.

Skills & Qualifications

✔ Analytical Skills – Strong problem-solving abilities to accurately assess project costs and risks.

✔ Attention to Detail – Ability to meticulously review project documents, ensuring precise cost estimates.

✔ Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

✔ Time Management – Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

✔ Technical Knowledge – Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and estimating software.

✔ Blueprint Reading – Proficiency in interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.

Preferred Background

• Relevant experience in construction cost estimation, preferably within the custom homebuilding sector.
• Familiarity with BuilderTrend or similar construction management software is a plus.
