What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Site Surveyor/Installer Hybrid position at Purelight Power?
Role:
As a solar site surveyor and installer, you will be responsible for accurately gathering and documenting information to support the construction review and design team, as well as assisting the installation team in safely installing roof- and ground-mounted solar systems. This role involves driving to customers’ homes daily, gathering all necessary information as outlined in the Site Capture form, and effectively communicating with team members when needed to ensure a seamless process from site assessment to installation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, including flashing, racking, module-level power electronics (microinverters/optimizers), array wiring, and junction boxes.
- Drive company vehicles to customer homes and gather accurate site data using an iPad and the Site Capture App.
- Obtain measurements and information from attics and roofs as needed.
- Maintain a clean job site and work truck.
- Assist the crew lead and electrician in completing installations.
- Assist with loading and unloading company vehicles.
- Communicate with the Site Survey Manager for tools, equipment, and scheduling needs, as well as with the Fleet Coordinator regarding vehicle maintenance through the Fleet Management App.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous demeanor with all customers.
- Follow company safety policies and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Obtain necessary certifications, including CPR Training, fall protection (Click Safety, 1.5-hour course), competent person fall protection (Guardian, 8-hour course), and electrical safety (Click Safety, 1-hour course).
- Be punctual for appointments and proactively communicate with the Site Survey Manager if timelines cannot be met.
- Interact with team members and other employees to provide or obtain additional information as required.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work on steep-sloped roofs.
- Must use safety equipment according to protocol.
- Must be willing to work in crawl spaces and attics.
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Must maintain a professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor.
- Must demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and be team-oriented.
- Must be able to maintain continual improvement in skills and performance.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all four seasons.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have high attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to work with power tools and hand tools.
- Must have a good vehicle background and a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel using a company vehicle as required.
- Experience in construction and/or roofing is preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
- NABCEP certification is preferred.
Pay and Availability:
- Full time paid biweekly
