HSE Coordinator II (Plant)

Objective of the Position: This position provides Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) technical and administrative support for and on the behalf of the Purem by Eberspaecher (Purem Novi, Inc.) Plant assigned. Responsible for supporting the HSE Manager and plant staff in the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors and to achieve continuous improvement in HSE and to also achieve a high level of HSE awareness by ensuring that risks in the workplace are properly controlled and that impacts on the environment are minimized. This is a full time position, but the position will be revisited after 1 year.

Essential Accountabilities: the position incumbent ensures that:

• Promote and drive the HSE mind-set and culture at the assigned Purem Novi, Inc. plant(s).
• Monitor and maintain compliance to all applicable EBOS, Federal, state, local and other related HSE requirements
• Monitor and Maintain plant OSHA Recordkeeping
• Monitor status of plant active/open Workmen’s Compensation claims and associated costs
• Assist in preparing, maintaining and reporting on Monthly HSE KPI‘s per EBOS requirements (T:drive)
• Assist in incident investigations, completion of related EBOS HSE Early Alerts and other related activities
• Participation and support of line-side HSE QPS activities and recordkeeping
• Assist and participate in the HSE Early Alert 8D process; Monitor status to maintain completion within assigned due dates.
• Support the execution of Monthly HSE Committee meetings; maintain meeting records
• Prepare and deliver HSE related employee notifications and communications as needed
• Monitor First Aid Logs and associated reporting and recordkeeping
• Support Plant HSE walks with the plant Management Team
• Monitor and support completion of Corrective Actions within assigned due dates
• Support and participate in all Industrialization, Transfer, and New Program Development related projects and activities.
• Verify HSE training needs per the Purem Novi, Inc. HSE Training Calendar are provided and audit HSE training records.
• Complete HSE review of new, refurbished, and/or modified plant equipment per the Purem Novi, Inc. HSE Equipment and Tooling Review Process (AME-I-3650)
• Review and authorize all incoming Hazardous Materials per the Hazardous Materials Authorization Procedure (AME-P-3336); Maintenance of SDS records.
• Review and authorize all Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO) task specific procedures for plant equipment and machinery and facilitate annual reviews of procedures.
• Provide HSE review and approval of all plant related CAPEX expenditures.
• Perform and document task and equipment specific hazard and risk assessments as necessary and required, but at minimum annually.
• Coordination and maintenance of all Plant Emergency Response procedures, evacuation plans, applicable employee training, and performance of routine drills.
• Participates in Monthly Global HSE Conference Call and Monthly Purem Novi, Inc. HSE Networking Conference Call
• In general, participates as Plant stakeholder and Purem Novi, Inc. BU HSE representative in all Plant programs, projects, and activities.
• Participation and coordination of plant HSE activities as determined by and necessary for the continued maintenance of the ISO 14001 registration.
• Assists, coordinates and participates in activities and projects necessary to support the Purem Novi, Inc. BU HSE with the implementation and continued maintenance Purem Novi, Inc. BU HSE programs, policies, and initiatives that will improve HSE awareness and performance.

Secondary Accountabilities: the position incumbent ensures, that

• Conduct all business-related activities for, and on the behalf of, Purem Novi, Inc. within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
• Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Purem Novi, Inc. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
• Ability to travel locally, domestically and/or internationally by car, plane or other means[RT1] .
• Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to IATF16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
• All other Plant, Purem Inc., Purem by Eberspaecher EBOS related activities.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Ability to be self-motivated and to work with minimum supervision and direction.

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) in Safety, Health and/or Environmental or closely related field
• Minimum 5 years of EHS discipline work experience in safety, health or environmental.
• Working knowledge and understanding of current ISO 14001 standards.
• Previous ISO 14001 Internal Auditor training and/or certification is preferred. Experience with ISO 45001 is a plus.
• Working knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and local EHS regulatory and other requirements.
• Automotive related experience with robotic welding, manual welding, metalworking, automated machining and assembly a plus.
• General understanding of manufacturing site waste streams management and disposal requirements.
• Position will require up to 20% local travel
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office. SAP and Share-point are a plus
