Transportation / Logistic Manager

Position Summary:

Direct all Transportation shifts and projects, communicate and manage DOT and other compliance and safety measures, labor results and operational reporting that may include other departments. 

Major Responsibilities:

• Ensures project/department goals and daily workflow assignments are met adhering to approved budgets and business requirements.
• Ensures conformance to established procedures and information accuracy.
• Ensures adequate performance management of all employees including affirmations, coaching, counseling, discipline, and terminations as required in a timely manner and resolve any Transportation personnel problems with the support of Human Resources.
• Responsible for all hiring of new employees within department.
• Ensures the orientation and proper training of all new workers by demonstrating and explaining techniques to improve safety and maintain workflow.
• Responsible for incident reports for any issues that affect safety, productivity, or quality.
• Develops schedules and workflow to control overtime, manage labor costs and meet KPIs and customer expectations.
• Ensures communication and timing is coordinated with production and communicates delays to Production and Service teams immediately.
• Communicate any equipment problems to service vendor in a timely manner and follow through to ensure those problems have been addressed and resolved.
• Monitors vehicles and equipment to ensure proper function and that all safety procedures are followed.
• Ensures strict compliance with all safety standards and DOT regulations.
• Preventing accidents is to be the highest priority.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School or equivalent required, higher education preferred.
• 3 years or more management experience and 3 years or more transportation or warehouse experience.
• Flexible schedule including days/nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Multi-lingual highly desirable.
• Technical experience highly desirable.
• Effective written and verbal skills in English.
• Able to meet DOT requirements.
• Requires flexible work schedule including days/nights/weekends and holidays.

• Standing 8 to 10 hours per shift.
• Working in an industrial setting with a heat or cold environment and distracting noise levels.

• Able to push or pull carts weighing several hundred pounds.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
