What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weigh Person position at Purestar Group?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the shipping/receiving of customer’s linen. Weigh linen, document and stage carts in a timely manner, flag issues to Production Supervisor and bring up any questions regarding customer’s linen.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pushes cart containing processed linen to the scale, inputs the customer, linen information, and weight of cart in the computer system.
- Makes sure that exact amount of weight is entered into the system, confirming that the corresponding amount of linen exits our production facility.
- Enter weight of soiled linen into the computer and enters clean linen leaving the plant.
- Keeps work area clean (housekeeping/safety)
- Communicates any deficiencies with production supervisors.
- Identifies any problems with the scale or linen.
- Communicates all production delays with the Logistics Supervisor/Manager
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested and/or assigned by immediate supervisor or management group.
- Must know customer linen classifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Flexible Schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong safety awareness

Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Assigned duties are accomplished primarily in a production setting. Must be able to maneuver around a production setting and respond to written and oral cues.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office/production equipment.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to push carts loaded with linen weighing up to 700 pounds.
- May be required to bend, reach and/or lift up to 25 lbs.
- May be at an industrial setting with heat/cold and distracting noise levels.
