Position Overview: The QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company’s QHSE strategy, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-quality work environment. This role involves developing and enforcing policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety across all operations. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
The QHSE Director collaborates with executive leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders to implement best practices, drive sustainability initiatives, and mitigate risks associated with health, safety, quality, and environmental factors. This position requires strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Additionally, the QHSE Director plays a key role in employee training and engagement to promote awareness and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive a company-wide safety culture by providing strategic direction and guidance on QHSE initiatives.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of QHSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of all QHSE documentation, reports, and records for compliance and traceability.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and operational teams to integrate QHSE best practices into business strategies.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety-related tools.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and drive sustainability initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing new QHSE technologies and innovations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence in QHSE across all departments.
- Act as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies, customers, and auditors regarding QHSE matters.
- Lead the development and execution of emergency response planning and drills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior QHSE leadership role, preferably in [industry, e.g., construction, manufacturing, hydronics, etc.].
- Extensive knowledge of QHSE regulations, standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and best practices.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and training abilities, with the capability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office and QHSE software systems.
- Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar QHSE qualifications is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, job sites, and industrial facilities.
- May require occasional travel to different company locations or client sites.
- Ability to lift, stand, walk, and perform inspections in various conditions.
