Description
The Accounting Intern is responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
In addition, the Accounting Intern must adhere to and embody the PURIS Core Values: Integrity, Leadership, Openness, Global Vision, Adaptability, and Partnership.
Pay Rate: $21.50 - $26.88
*The pay rate for this role will be based on qualifications, experience, market data, and internal equity. Actual pay may vary due to factors such as location, skills, education, and performance. Pay is determined transparently, using market benchmarks and ensuring internal equity.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Validate, enter and set invoices for payment.
- Prepare and send invoices to customers.
- Obtain vendor and customer forms.
- Issue billing reminders to past due accounts
- Review and verify invoices and check requests.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Disciplined approach to work and completion of tasks.
- Manage daily tasks with confidentiality, good judgment, communication and information management skills.
- Display effective problem-solving skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Intermediate knowledge of excel and keyboard shortcuts.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- This role is default in the office with flexibility.
