What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontic Assistant position at Purnell Orthodontics?
We are looking for a full-time orthodontic dental assistant. We would love to have a new member of our team to have prior orthodontic experience but are open to dental assistants wanting to learn orthodontics.
- Assist the orthodontist in providing quality dental care to patients
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays and other diagnostic images
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Assist with patient management and education, including explaining procedures and post-treatment care instructions
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Order and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment
```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a dental assistant preferred
- Experience in orthodontics or pediatrics is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

We see patient's in Lexington 3 days a week and Columbia once a week.
