About the Position:
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Events and Hospitality to lead our events and hospitality team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing events, hospitality, and sales.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with a strong emphasis on event management and sales. They will be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and support software such as Toast and Tock.
The Director of Events and Hospitality will oversee all facets of hospitality and events, including the restaurant, bar, tasting room, private events, and trade events. They will work closely with the Vice President of Marketing to develop homeplace strategies and collaborate with a team of two, including the Manager of Hospitality and the Kitchen Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote the distillery's private event space, restaurant, and tasting/tour experience.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing to create engaging homeplace experiences.
- Manage and own the guest experience from start to finish.
- Oversee restaurant operations, including working with the chef/cook on inventory, reporting, seasonal offerings, commercial kitchen needs, and logistics.
- Oversee the bar program, including inventory, reporting, vendor relationships, and logistics.
- Train employees who provide tours and own tour content and tour experience.
- Own food and catering experience for the event client.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant tasting room/restaurant management experience, bar experience strongly preferred, with an emphasis in event management and sales.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Proficient in support software such as Toast and Tock.
- Desire to lead a team and be an excellent role model for hospitality staff.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs.
