Job Description: Data Engineer/Automation Engineer
A "Python Automation Engineer" is responsible for designing and developing automated solutions using Python programming language to streamline repetitive tasks, improve operational efficiency, and optimize workflows within software development, testing, and system administration processes, often involving creating scripts, frameworks, and tools to automate various functions across different systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the migration of legacy data warehouse Data Warehouses to a google cloud based data warehouse for a Major Telecom Major.
Build Frameworks to Automate repetitive activities in development , data Testing, administration .
Write clean, efficient Python code to automate repetitive tasks like data extraction, file manipulation, system administration, web interactions, API testing, and more.
Design and implement robust automation frameworks using Python libraries like Selenium, Requests, Beautiful Soup, Pytest, and others to ensure scalability and maintainability.
Integrate automation scripts into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
Analyze existing processes and identify areas where automation can significantly improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Develop and execute automated test cases to validate software functionality and identify defects.
Document identified issues in bug tracking systems and generate comprehensive reports on automation results.
Monitor and optimize automation scripts for speed and reliability.
Work closely with developers, testers, system administrators, and product owners to understand requirements and implement automation solutions.
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of Python syntax, data structures, object-oriented programming, and best practices.
Familiarity with popular Python automation libraries like Selenium, Requests, Beautiful Soup, Pytest, and Unittest.
Knowledge of software testing concepts including functional testing, regression testing, API testing, and performance testing.
Proficiency in Github for code management.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate automation scripts within them.
Ability to troubleshoot automation issues and analyze test results to identify root causes.
