Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting opportunity with a large, well known tech client of ours, for a full time UX Program Manager. This role requires someone who has a deep understanding of UX, the software product lifecycle, and an ability to expertly manage multiple deliverables in a fast paced environment. The bulk of the work is to track the UX work according to the program schedule, facilitate cross-functional meetings, and create and follow processes for the team. The current UX team is made up of UX Designers, UX Engineers, Researchers, Writers, Visual Designers, Motion Designers and UX Program Managers who all care deeply about the people who use their products.
Contract Opportunity: Full time contract role beginning in March / April 2025. Initial contract runs through June 30, 2025 but there is a strong likelihood of an extension. Working hours may vary from PST to EST.
Responsibilities
- Manage software and hardware product design workflow in collaboration with engineering, product management, research and QA partners
- Manage and track UX deliverables within a long term product design program
- Define UX and Industrial Design milestones with clear goals and UX deliverables
- Detailed tracking of UX and Industrial Design tasks within a complex task management system
- Work with stakeholders on prioritization to define key opportunities and balanced workloads
- Clear communication across UX team and with key partners
- Foster team collaboration through knowledge-sharing, crits and reviews, work sessions, shared processes, bug triage and more
- Cultivate a positive team environment focused on producing high quality deliverables
- Schedule, facilitate, summarize, and lead daily/weekly meetings with the team
- Monitor progress on deliverables helping to unblock things as needed; assist in resource planning as requested
- Report weekly on activities and provide regular updates to leadership
Requirements
- 5 years of experience managing UX related projects or programs within a Software or Hardware Product Design or UX organization
- Located in either NYC or Bay Area and able to work in the corporate office part time
- Experience with UX and Industrial Design disciplines and user centered development tools and methodologies
- Firm grasp of the software and hardware product development lifecycle
- Experience improving the velocity/productivity of teams, products, and systems
- Experience leading across geographically distributed teams
