The Logistics Coordinator at Purple Wave is a vital team member responsible for quoting, scheduling, and analyzing freight requirements. This role involves efficiently allocating schedules, communicating internally and with Purple Wave customers, researching shipments, and preparing freight documents. The Logistics Coordinator collaborates with various Purple Wave departments and vendors to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate shipping quotes to Purple Wave customers.
- Create contractual agreements between parties involved in the logistics process.
- Resolve shipping and contractual issues in a proactive and timely manner.
- Analyze state-specific carrier regulations and costs to optimize logistics processes.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to streamline logistics activities.
- Utilize industry-specific programs to facilitate efficient logistics management.
- Conduct research on shipments and prepare necessary freight documents.
- Possess and apply good communication and prompt phone answering skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of programs commonly used within the logistics industry.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
- Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in logistics, transportation management, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in transportation or logistics industries.
- Extensive driving experience, with a background in heavy haul transportation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of permits, regulations, and logistical requirements related to heavy haul transportation.
- Have a background in agricultural and construction equipment.
- Proficiency in using software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Spanish speaking bi-lingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Working Settings:
- Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
- Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, additional hours may be required depending on priorities.
- Based in the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Compensation:
- The salary varies based on experience and qualifications, but typically ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 per year.
- Monthly Bonus Program - determined by the Company’s monthly revenue result and are paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula. (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200).
- Monthly phone stipend in accordance with the Company’s cell phone policy, currently $120/month.
- Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment.
- Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year. May vary to comply with state requirements.
- Eligible to participate in the Company Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) after 90 days of employment, with enrollment opportunities each May and November.
