The Senior Manager of Sales Training and Talent Development for an online auction company is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive training programs that enhance employee skills and drive organizational performance. This role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning and development to ensure that the workforce is equipped to meet the challenges of the rapidly evolving online auction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement training programs tailored to the needs of the sales department, including customer service, marketing, and technology.
- Develop onboarding programs for new hires to ensure a smooth transition and integration into the company culture.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs and skill gaps within the organization. (Ongoing Training)
- Collaborate with department heads to align training initiatives with strategic business goals.
- Design engaging and effective training materials using a variety of formats, including e-learning modules, workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
- Incorporate industry best practices and emerging trends in online auctions into training content.
- Lead training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtually, ensuring an interactive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize various instructional techniques and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and their impact on employee performance and business outcomes.
- Collect feedback from participants to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.
- Implement leadership development programs to identify and nurture high-potential employees for future leadership roles.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to employees seeking career advancement within the organization.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the organization.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration among employees to foster innovation and engagement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7 years of experience in training and development, with a focus on e-commerce or technology environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and employee development needs.
- Proficiency in learning management systems and other training technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principals and instructional design methodologies.
- Ability to utilize various technologies, tools, and systems to gather and share information electronically.
- Ability to travel extensively when required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Working Settings:
- Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
- Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, Central Time zone, additional hours may be required depending on priorities.
- This position is remote/hybrid work eligible within the United States.
- In person training will be required at the Purple Wave Headquarters in Manhattan, KS.
- Potential for 20-30% travel, should the need arise.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation:
- The salary varies based on experience and qualifications, but typically between $100,000 and $125,000 per year.
- Monthly Bonus Program - determined by the Company’s monthly revenue result and are paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula. (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200).
- Monthly phone stipend in accordance with the Company’s cell phone policy, currently $120/month.
- Monthly vehicle stipend in accordance with the Company’s vehicle and mileage policy, currently $750/month.
- Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment.
- Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year. May vary to comply with state requirements.
- Eligible to participate in the Company Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) through Copart after 90 days of employment, with enrollment opportunities each May and November.
