The Title Operations Manager works in a team driven environment from the Manhattan, KS office and reports to the Director of Operations. The Title Operations Manager ensures the Title Operations team understands, adheres to and enforces all Purple Wave title, contract, legal and listing standards, collaborating with the sales team, team members and other departments to achieve those standards. The manager will oversee the day to day operations of the department, ensuring daily goals are being met and tasks are completed in a timely manner. The manager collaborates with the Title Operations team and other departments to investigate and help resolve title issues for both buyers and sellers. They work with sales staff and team members to ensure physical titles are acquired in a timely manner and ensure all proper filing protocols are realized. They work closely with the Senior Titles Operations Manager to identify and implement process and efficiency improvements ensuring the success of the team and the department. Additionally, they ensure all processes surrounding title encumbrances follow Purple Wave standards by working with the Titles Lien Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Mentors Title Operations team, providing guidance and support.
- Manage the daily work of the Title Operations team, assisting as necessary to ensure the completion of daily tasks.
- Reviews staff availability and communicates adjustments with the title operations team.
- Review performance of the title operations team quarterly and assess performance based bonuses accordingly.
- Create, implement and conduct an internal review process to use when assessing promotions within the department.
- Create, implement, and execute a training plan and schedule for new team members, ensuring all team members receive consistent and thorough training.
- Ensure the smooth transition of documents and knowledge throughout the Title Operations team.
- Manage the out-of-bounds title list, working closely with applicable departments to obtain necessary documents within the advertised delay.
- Collaborates with the Title Operations team and other departments to investigate title issues and assist with resolution.
- Works with the Lending team and the Title Lien Specialist to ensure all standards, protocols and processes are met.
- Monitors current workflow processes to ensure efficiency and standards are met.
- Subject matter expert/Stakeholder on title workflow - works with team members to identify and solve potential process issues.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements process and filing strategies that enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure timely, accurate handling of title documentation.
- Collaborates closely with the Senior Title Operations Manager to develop and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) that accurately measure individual and team performance, using data-driven insights to identify trends, support staff development, and enhance departmental effectiveness.
- Identify staffing needs and adjust accordingly, communicating with the Director of Operations.
- Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in the hiring and training of departmental managers and employees.
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in an operations or e-commerce environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service by effectively resolving title-related issues, maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations, and communicating clearly with buyers, sellers, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to listen to team members and incorporate their feedback.
- Ability to identify issues, develop training solutions, and mentor team members effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with online marketplace listing operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using communication tools like Slack.
- Willingness to adapt to a dynamic and fluid work environment.
- Proficiency in using software and applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Working Settings:
- Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
- Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, additional hours may be required depending on priorities.
- Based at the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Compensation:
- The annual salary varies based on experience and qualifications, but typically ranges from $50,000 to $65,000 per year. Salary paid bi-weekly.
- Monthly Bonus Program - determined by the Company’s monthly revenue result and are paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200).
- Monthly phone stipend in accordance with the Company’s cell phone policy, currently $120/month.
- Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment.
- Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year. May vary to comply with state requirements.
- Eligible to participate in the Company Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) through Copart after 90 days of employment, with enrollment opportunities each May and November.
