We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in automation engineering, with hands-on experience in PLC & HMI programming, control systems, and instrumentation wiring. This role requires the ability to travel within the continental US for commissioning projects, which typically last 30 days or less.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and commission PLC and HMI programs to meet project specifications.
- Conduct loop checks of PLC I / O wiring to ensure accurate and reliable system operation.
- Perform quality checks on PLC panels to verify adherence to design and safety standards.
- Create detailed cause and effect diagrams and I / O lists to support system design and troubleshooting.
- Produce redline documentation for as-built drawings, reflecting any changes made during commissioning.
- Develop engineering sketches to provide clear instructions for field electricians.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams to ensure correct system setup and operation.
- Demonstrate expertise in 3-phase power systems, including 480V, 5kV class, and 15kV class systems.
- Apply a strong understanding of control systems and instrumentation wiring to design and troubleshooting tasks.
- Adhere to industry standards and codes such as NFPA 70, IEEE, and API.
- Experience with cellular, VSAT, copper, and fiber networking is advantageous.
- Familiarity with VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) and instrument commissioning is a plus.
