Health Care Specialist/Medicine Technician

Position Summary (this section is the brief overview of the position; it is not the all of the duties of the position)

To review all documentation relevant to medication (administration, recording, and communication), and to secure and place all required Medicaid, RFP, and CARF documentation within its appropriate location.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Perform weekly reviews of all documentation regarding Medication dispensation. (MAR)
• Communicate with all Program Manager and / or Lead Direct Support Professional in relation to areas of deficiency and / or errors located in individual medication dispensation documentation.
• Pass and document Medications to all individuals
• Coordinate all medicine changes with Psychiatrist
• Make and attend all appointments related to health services for individuals.
• Document all medical summaries in electronic filing systems as required
• Perform necessary training for all staff in regards to medication, dispensation, and side-effects.
• Be available to all staff, via cell phone and / or email, in regards to questions about medication.
• Prepare a written summary of all findings and discrepancies, and then will insure that all necessary steps are met to correct any error or deficiency. Written reports will be submitted to Corporate Compliance Officer, Program Director, and others as needed.
• Perform other duties not otherwise specified above as assigned by the Corporate Compliance Officer or a recognized Administrator within the organization.
• Meet, through knowledge or performance, the job duties of all subordinate positions.
