We are currently seeking a Healthcare Professional for a client located in the Chicago Land area.
We help support you in your assignments with 24/7 access to an RN while caring for your client.
We offer hourly, short shifts, and live-in
Job Duties include:
- Reads each client's Care Plan and performs the specific tasks outlines. Assists client as needed, excluding skilled, professional-level nursing care. Understands short and long-term care goals of client and performs duties to help achieve these goals.
- As directed by AAED and client, assist client with personal care tasks, including but not limited to: bathing, shampoo/hair, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, shaving, nail care (do not cut nails), skin care on intact skin only, etc.
- As directed by AAEB and client assist client with toileting; including bed pans, urinals, commodes, provision of per-care, changing clothing and/or pads, emptying catheter bags and changing ostomy bags.
- As directed by AAEB assist client with mobility, ambulation, lifting, turning, positioning, pivot transfer, etc., using proper body mechanics to avoid injury to client and employee.
- As directed by AAEB and client, plans, shops for and prepares nutritious meals for client, in accordance with dietary guidelines/restrictions and client preferences. Assists client with eating/feeding as necessary.
- Reports change in client's condition to AAEB immediately.
- As directed by AAEB and client, performs housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to: taking out garbage; wiping up spilled foods and beverages; wiping counters and tables; keeping refrigerator/freezer free or spoiled foods; washing kitchen sink; damp-mopping tile floors; washing diches, etc.; changing of bed linens; washing/drying/ironing of personal laundry; sweeping and vacuuming floors; dusting; cleaning of bathrooms; etc.
- Give adequate report on client activities and client condition to co-workers (caregivers, nurses, etc.) or family upon completion of your shift.
- Completes accurate documentation and/or telephony task lists to record client tasks, activities and observations on a daily basis.
- Complete Universal Precautions training and update this training annually or as required according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and regulations.
- Takes precautions to ensure a safe, secure environment for client. Reports any actual or potential safety hazards to AAEB immediately.

Requirements:
- Previous home care experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must provide own transportation or be willing and able to take public transportation or have a reliable means of transportation to client homes.
- Must be able to use proper Body Mechanics. Must be able to lift, transfer, reposition clients.
- Must have basic cooking skills.
- Must be familiar with and be able to demonstrate and provide the essential functions of the job, including but not limited to; proper techniques for transferring clients, assisting clients with ambulation etc.
- Must practice Universal Precautions/infection control procedures and good personal hygiene.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $210.00 - $220.00 per day
