Overview
Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments (PKS) is seeking an Insurance Commission Analyst to help with its growing network of Registered Representatives. PKS is a fast-growing brokerage firm located in the heart of Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional work ethic, be detail oriented and work well under pressure. Must be able to be proactive, take initiative and be able to work well within a team setting, as well as independently.
Duties
- Calculating payouts for insurance products daily
- Reviewing financial data to ensure fairness and completeness of the data.
- Preparation of financial reports
- Data entry into Excel and an online commission platform, ensuring accuracy and cross checking between different workbooks and programs
- Liaison with IMOs, BGAs and vendors
- Handle incoming calls, emails and/or inquiries from registered representatives, management, other departments at PKS
- Assisting in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements
- Assisting in the preparation of the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Conducting account reconciliations and analysis
- Annual Financial Audit with accounting firm
- Preventing inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting
- Developing and maintaining system controls for ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Prepare, gather, and submit documents/filings as requested for SEC, FINRA, State and other regulators
- Developing and maintaining proper operational, data documentation and troubleshooting procedures
- Assisting with special projects
Must obtain FINRA SIE and Series 99 exams within 12 months
Must pass NYS insurance license exam within 6 months
Required Skills and Experience:
Four year degree from an accredited college
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to function well in a fast paced/high-volume environment
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Excel
