Summary
Pursuit Aerospace is looking for a dynamic Buyer III in our Manchester, CT site; reporting to the Site Supply Chain Manager located in at the Manchester, CT site. This position will provide support for indirect/non-product procurement at the Business Unit Level, providing support locally and working with Corporate Supply Chain team to implement best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Determining supply needs, researching potential suppliers, and issuing ERP generated Purchase Orders for all non-inventory purchase.
- Preparing cost-benefit analysis reports for review by managers
- Implementing procurement contracts with selected vendors and suppliers as directed by Corporate or Business Unit Supply Chain teams.
- Acting as a liaison with Suppliers in placing PO’s, negotiating pricing and ensuring invoices are correct and can be processed and paid on time
- Acting as a liaison and communicating pricing and performance needs to vendors and suppliers
- Documenting processes and generating monthly supply cost reports
- Identifying and supporting implementation of initiatives to reduce costs
- Keeping abreast of vendor and supplier-related activities in the industry
- Actively participate on behalf of purchasing in Continuous Improvement efforts
- Share best practices; propose adjustments to tools, processes and communication methods
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to efficiently communicate in English, including both verbal and written communications
- Proficiency with MS Office products
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Syteline, electronic procurement and analytical software
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or more than 2 years progressive sourcing and purchasing experience.
- Experience managing or leading projects and/or programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of Aerospace and Aircraft Engine components
- Analytical skills
- Negotiation skills
