Job Summary:
The Deburring Technician is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from aerospace components to meet strict quality and safety standards. The technician ensures that all parts comply with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform manual and machine deburring, including the use for hand tools (e.g., files, scrapers, sandpaper, rotary tools) and specialized deburring machines.
- Polish, smooth, and refine aerospace components to achieve the required surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts for burrs, defects, and conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure all parts meet aerospace industry standards.
- Maintain and clean deburring tools and machinery regularly to ensure consistent performance.
- Report equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, including any issues encountered and resolutions.
- Complete required production and inspection logs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow company policies and industry regulations, including AS9100 and ISO standards.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on potential improvements in deburring techniques and tools.
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent
- 1-3 years of deburring experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and deburring machinery
- Must be willing to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity and excellent hand- eye coordination
- Ability to lift and carry components weighing up to 30 lbs.
