Job Title: Finance Director

Reports To: CFO

Locations: This role can be based out of any one of these three cities. Malden MA, Newburyport MA or Manchester CT.

The Director Finance is responsible for the financial guidance, strategy, forecasting, and business management for Pursuit Large Machining Division The incumbent should have a strong grasp of core financial concepts, including management and financial accounting, cash management, team building, and budgeting. This role will serve as the leader of the division finance team, also advising the broader management team as a thought leader in identifying profit-generating and working capital improvement opportunities. This position will report to the Pursuit CFO and will serve as a strategic partner and advisor within the Large Machining leadership team.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create and establish annual financial objectives that align with the division’s plan for growth and expansion.
• Analyze, interpret, signoff, and report financial data including monthly/ quarterly/ annual reporting, budgets, strategic planning, and forecasting.
• Act strongly and proactively to ensure that forecast commitments are met.
• Provide accurate and reliable financial analysis to facilitate decision-making by management.
• Manage net working capital short and long term forecasts and actuals
• Evaluate proposal cost and pricing data for accuracy, adequacy, reasonableness, consistency with tactical and strategic initiatives, and legal and contractual commitments.
• Provide meaningful forward-looking and proactive analysis to provide financial insight into the organizations plan and operating budgets, including providing financial support to sales efforts and contract negotiations as well as rigorous review process around CAPEX projects.
• Manage Finance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, planning and training employees. Coach, counsel, monitor, and appraise staff performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minium Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or Accounting
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience with an A&D company

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, Accounting or similar
• Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement experience a plus.
• Mergers and Acquisitions experience

• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex information and key concepts adapted for internal and external audiences
• Recent experience creating, implementing, and/or significantly improving the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process.
• Significant experience ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are operational, tracked, and monitored appropriately.
