Job Summary:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and processing incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and equipment used in aerospace manufacturing. This role ensures that all received goods comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies before being moved into inventory or production.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accept and verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips and invoices
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or non-conformance with specifications.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Accurately record receiving goods into inventory management systems (ERP, Visual)
- Maintain proper records of shipping documents, certifications, and material traceability.
- Generate reports on received inventory and discrepancies.
- Coordinate with inventory control and production teams for proper storage and distribution of received goods.
- Label, sort and store items in designated areas to maintain an organized area.
- Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
- Adhere to aerospace industry regulations and company policies regarding material handling and documentation.
- Follow proper safety procedures when using equipment such as forklifts, pattet jacks, and scanners.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Will be crossed trained for the shipping department for back up purposes.
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or receiving role (preferably in aerospace or manufacturing)
- Experience with aerospace materials, documentation and traceability requirements is a plus.
- Must be able to understand and follow instructions in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Proficiency in ERP Visual systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross- functional teams.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
